I am alan:

I am a Chicago (Skokie) native who was transplanted to South Florida at age 12. Introduced to photography at age 16, it has remained a part of my life ever since (miss the darkroom!). A University of Florida Gator (Go Gators!), in the early eighties I graduated with a business degree, concentrating on Computer and Information Sciences, and took my degree to Maryland (Columbia) to work as a Computer Systems Analyst with the National Security Agency. While there I attended full-time (4-year program) night law school at the University of Baltimore. With the degree and Florida bar license in hand, I returned to South Florida where I have been living and practicing law ever since. I am enthralled with reading, writing, travel, cooking, photography, music (particularly the sixties), drawing, paper-cutting, gardening, walking in nature, and spending time with my wife and family (but not enough, with five kids, four many miles away, not to mention my grandaughter). In addition to my legal writing, and publishing several legal articles in the Broward County Bar Association Barrister Magazine, and a peer-reviewed article in The Florida Bar Journal, I wrote "Because of Rachel" over some twenty years, with many breaks, including turning the early mansucript into an acclaimed screenplay (but not sold). I have more creative writings, including short stories, essays, haikus, poems, and a creative book with my wife, Debbie Grossman (debbiegrossmanart.com) with her paintings and my creative writing related to the weekly Torah (Old Testament) portions, which will soon be published. I have another novel near completion and several IN various stages of completion.
